Merry Christmas!

We gave the picture frames and announced to our families. Everyone was excited. We had lots of hugs and happy tears!

Sharing the news

I have finished the Christmas presents for all of the grandparents. Each set of parents are going to get a photo album or frame with a poem that I wrote inside:

Grandchildren are so much fun!
Sure to bring a smile to anyone.
We have no picture for this frame,
We don't even have a name.
But we would like to say
That Baby Ruble is on the way.
Coming in August 2010,
You'll be happy to meet the baby then!
I am very excited to share the happy news. I know our families will all be thrilled.
So far, I really don't feel any different. I have the occasional nausea, but at this point no vomiting (knock on wood). I have found if I don't eat too little or too much, I feel a lot better. I have given up caffeine with the exception of chocolate. I could never give up chocolate! I think I am doing much better at eating healthier. According to my scale, I have not gained any weight yet. According to what I have read, that is normal for this point.

History Appointment

So we have discovered I am pregnant so I am copying my friends in creating a baby blog. Our first vist to the OBGYN was today. We are still in a little bit of a shock as we were not expecting the positive test so soon. This first appointment was with the "history nurse". Our official due date is August 7, 2010 putting me at 6 weeks and 3 days. After checking my vital signs and getting my medical history, the nurse just gave us a lot of information about diet and exercise and blah, blah, blah... I tried not to act like a know-it-all, but I really didn't feel like she told me anything I didn't already know. I guess this is why nurses do not make good patients...

Our next appointment is January 5. We are scheduled for an ultrasound and we will see the doctor then. No one else knows about the baby yet, but we are planning to tell our families at Chirstmas.
